I always knew that travel and experiencing other cultures were more than just interests for me. After a successful career in advertising, training, and customer service, I retrained as a Teacher of English as a Foreign Language and was fortunate to live in Bahrain and then Saudi Arabia for several years. These roles proved invaluable, strengthening my self-reliance and my ability to work effectively across diverse cultural environments. While working in Saudi Arabia, I met my now husband, and we later relocated to the United States due to his position in the United States Air Force and married in Nashsville, TN.
The Middle East called us back once more, this time making Abu Dhabi our home, and I became a mum to twin boys in Dubai. Having travelled extensively throughout the region, the Middle East remains one of my favourite destinations—Beirut, in particular, stands out as one of my most memorable solo travel experiences.
I have also backpacked widely across India, Asia, New Zealand, Australia, and North America, enjoying many once-in-a-lifetime experiences along the way. These journeys have deepened my cultural awareness, adaptability, budgeting skills, and interpersonal strengths, and sparked a lifelong passion for travel and global connection.
With a global network of family, friends and contacts, I’m fortunate to have access to first-hand insights and local knowledge around the world. Q&A
Favourite holiday destination so far?
Iceland. The country offers so many opportunities for every interest. Incredible wildlife, breathtaking scenery, easy to navigate, incredible food and wonderful people. Every season brings a new reason to visit. And the only country in the world that doesn’t have mosquitos! We also recently went to Rovaniemi, Finland and you can’t beat the joy in your children’s (and grandparents) faces when they meet Santa and play in the snow.
One dream destination you would love to visit next?
This is a tough one, as I always have a huge list but right now, I would say a cruise and stay tour of Alaska/ Canada rocky mountain area.
A top personal travel tip you swear by?
Take your first day’s clothes/ swimsuit in your hand luggage. Even if the worst happens and your luggage is delayed, you can still start your holiday the right way!

Beach or Mountains? Mountains but would love a beach close by
City or Nature? City. I love a wander and people watching
Luxury Hotel or Boutique Stay? The older I get the more comfort I want so Luxury
B&B or All-Inclusive? B&B, inevitably want to get out and explore, the AI would be a waste!
Guided Tour or Go It Alone? I like to make the most of my time so a guided tour helps
Fine Dining or Street Food? Street Food! Although I'm not particularly adventurous
Packing Light or Just-in-Case? With kids, it's now packing light for me to make room for them
Relaxation or Adventure? A mix please!
